Bat Kid Program

The McHenry County Youth Sports Association has a fun and rewarding opportunity for kids ages 8 and up with an interest in baseball (watching or playing). We are in need of bat boys and girls for the MCYSA Summer International Championship taking place throughout McHenry County on July 19-22 and July 25-28, 2019.

Bat kid duties include being present at games and assisting an assigned 15U team throughout the tournament. Regardless of the team you are assigned you will have the opportunity to experience international baseball. Teams from Japan, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and others will be participating this year.

Bat kids are assigned an out-of-state 15U team and given a MCYSA bat kid t-shirt. If you are unable to fully commit to the 5 game minimum of a team, you and a friend can share the duties. What makes our tournament unique is the sense of community through our bat kids, home stay program, and international experience.

Please contact Carolyn Schofield at carolyn.schofield@sbcglobal.net or cell 815-341-2440 if you are interested in being a bat kid or if you have any questions. Please pass this along to anyone you know that might be interested in this fun experience.
